Amadeo de Souza-Cardozo - cubist, futurist, abstractionist

Till 18th of November in Moscow Museum of fine arts of A.Pushkin thre will be held an exhibition of Portuguese modernist Amadeo de Souza-Cardozo. His name is considered one of the most important names in art of 20th century. Pictures, gathered from the Portuguese museums, will represent the artist-cubist, futurist, and abstractionist. Poly school in his creation is explained that1906 he had lived in Paris and had such friend like Modigliani and Robert Delaunay, Boccioni, Severini, etc.
Amadeo de Souza-Cardozo is compared to such Russian representatives of avant-garde like Malevich and Kandinsky.

Festival of Sofia Gubaidulina music started on 20th of October has continued from 23rd of October in Moscow

One of the outstanding composers of 20th century. She is a member of Royal musical academy of Sweden. She is the author symphonic composition "St. John's Passion". In Kazan where Sofia Gubaidulina had started her career, this year Centre of Modern music named by Sofia Gubaidulina. Scholarship to the most gifted students of Kazan conservatory has her name.
Sofia Gubaidulina was born in Chistopol 24th of October in 1931. When she graduated from the Kazan conservatory, she entered into the Moscow one, studio of Nikolai Peiko, one of the pupils of Dmitry Shostakovich. This composerhad a big influence in her life. "Way and style of his life were my guides…", - told Sofia Gubaidulina. Non-conformist by her nature she could not inscribe in generally accepted frames, musical critics treated her music skeptically. A foundation of experimental- improvising group "Astreya" together with Victor Suslin and Viacheslav Artemov only worsened her status. It was much changed in 1981 when Gidon Kremer performed in Vienna her concert for violoncello with orchestra "Offertium". Thanks to Kremer her music became to widely performed in Europe. She could leave abroad only five years later.
Now Sofia Gubaidulina lives and works in quiet place near Gamburg where she had found silence and rest. She found herself there "absolutely happy". "Silence needs to be earned", - she told. Prize "Silence" ("Solenzio") as a recognition of her creation by homeland was handed in to her on present-day festival by the association president "Muza Svobody", founder of Moscow theatre premium "Khrustalinaia Turandot" Boris Belenky, Vladimir Vasiliev and Mstislav Rostropovich.

Ist volume of the anthology "Artists of Moscow" was published

19-20th of October in the exhibition hall on Kuznetsky most street, 20 it was hold an exhibition of twenty Russian artists - members of Artists Association of Moscow Department of Artists Union, dated to publishing of Ist volume of the anthology "Artists of Moscow" (Publishing house "Svet-Info", authors of the anthology are L.V. Grinshpun, U.N.
